CARRIE is the owner of Maple Grade Tutoring and is a certified teacher in mathematic instruction as well as a certified Orton-Gillingham instructor. She received her BA in Mathematics and Economics from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. After working as a software development consultant, she went through the Initial Licensure program at the University of Minnesota to become a licensed math teacher and taught algebra, geometry and remedial math courses. She opened Maple Grade Tutoring in 2016 and received training in Orton-Gillingham instruction through the Dyslexia Training Institute (San Diego, CA). Her goal is to bring multi-sensory teaching techniques to her students that struggle with reading and/or math. Carrie lives in Maple Grove, MN with her husband, twin daughters and rescue pup. ANNA is a reading tutor at Maple Grade Tutoring. She has a Comparative Literature degree from the University of California, Berkeley. She received her California teaching credential in 2001 and has taught students how to read in a variety of settings. She earned a Master degree of Education from California State University, San Bernardino in 2003 and a second Master degree in Education from the University of California, Riverside in 2010. Her professional experience includes first grade teacher, second grade teacher and intervention teacher. Most recently, she served students as an English Learner teacher at a local elementary school. She also has training in Reading First, Handwriting Without Tears, S’cool Moves, and the “So Happy to Learn” reading program. She is currently enrolled in the Dyslexia Certificate Program through the Dyslexia Training Institute (San Diego, CA). Anna lives in Maple Grove, MN with her husband and three children.
